Terms of Service

Welcome to Centree. By creating an account or using the Centree app or website ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Centree. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You may sign in using email and password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

3. What you can do

Centree is a family storytelling app. You may use it to create and share stories, record audio, upload photos, tag family members, map memories to locations, and build your family tree. Content you create belongs to you — Centree does not claim ownership of your stories, photos, or recordings.

4. Content guidelines

Centree is designed for families to share meaningful memories. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post content that:

• Is abusive, threatening, harassing, or hateful toward any person or group
• Contains sexually explicit or pornographic material
• Promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
• Infringes on another person's intellectual property or privacy
• Is spam, misleading, or fraudulent
• Exploits or endangers minors in any way

Centree reserves the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines without notice.

5. Reporting and blocking

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, please report it using the report feature within the app. You may also block users whose behavior you find objectionable. Blocking a user will immediately remove their content from your feed and notify Centree of the issue.

We review all reports and take action within 24 hours. Actions may include removing the reported content, issuing a warning to the offending user, or permanently suspending their account. Repeated or serious violations will result in immediate account termination.

6. Your privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using Centree, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes not attempting to access accounts that are not yours, not interfering with other users' ability to use the Service, not using automated tools to access or scrape content, and not attempting to reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, particularly the content guidelines described above. If your account is terminated for violations, you may not create a new account without our permission.

9. Service availability

Centree is provided "as is." We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and the ability to export your data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Centree and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to use the Service (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Centree after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
